Overview of MindManager 7 Lite features

Andrew Wilcox, writing in Cabre's Visualize, Organize and Publish with MindManager Forum (registration required), recently posted a helpful summary of the features that Mindjet has included and excluded in the new Lite version of its flagship mind mapping program:

"All the features for producing two dimensional maps from MindManager Pro 7 have been retained.  Missing are the exports and integration with the Microsoft Office products, task management and other features.  So what can you do with MindManager LITE 7?

• Create maps in variety of styles based on a central topic and radiating subtopics.
• You can manipulate the styles of topics individually and at a topic level. These includes: colour, shape, size and layout (e.g. organisation chart).
• You can add: markers (useful for filtering), call outs, relationships, notes, numbering and boundaries.
• Add hyperlinks to documents, images, media files, folders, emails and web pages.
• A toolbar button is added Internet Explorer to add URLs and titles directly to the current topic.
• You can view and print (a PDF printer is included) the map as an outline. This is the only way to see notes outside of MindManager.
• The view of the map can be controlled in level detail and by filtering selected topics.

There is one odd omission no 'Send to new linked map' but you can link maps."

Andrew also provides a link to a PDF file created by Mindjet UK, which compares the features of the Lite and Pro versions of MindManager 7, side-by-side. He also points out that unlicensed copies of MindManager 7 Lite (after the 30-day trial period, for example) revert to the MindManager Viewer application. Thanks for posting this -- I couldn't find anything on MindJet's own site comparing the two products.
